About the Role

Rotana Hotels is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator for a full-time position in Al Khobar, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This role is central to ensuring the hotel's operations adhere to stringent environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards, including food safety. The Coordinator will contribute to maintaining a safe environment for guests and employees while upholding product quality and compliance across all hotel areas.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections based on food safety standards in kitchens, outlets, and relevant areas such as stores, receiving, engineering, and garbage rooms.
• Perform daily workplace and guest area inspections across all departments, ensuring adherence to Environment, Health & Safety standards.
• Follow up on the implementation of corrective actions with relevant departments.
• Deliver training to all employees on EHS and food safety policies and procedures.
• Coordinate EHS meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
• Conduct induction training for contractors and colleagues regarding the EHS and food safety system.
• Inspect contractors' work when they are operating within the premises.
• Assist departments with completing risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation.
• Schedule and participate in audits conducted for suppliers and contractors alongside the Environmental Health and Safety Manager.
• Review and maintain all records related to EHSMS and food safety on a monthly basis.
• Participate in various EHS, HACCP, ISO, Sustainability, and OHSMS compliance and/or management system audits.

Occupational Health and Safety Management

• Develop and periodically review OHSMS manuals, policies, and procedures.
• Lead the implementation of the OHS System and monitor its effectiveness through inspections and meetings with department heads and operational colleagues.
• Maintain active involvement in periodic reviews and assist in setting EHS objectives and targets.
• Ensure new employees receive all OHS training relevant to their specific tasks.
• Report OHSMS performance to senior management and the sector regulatory authority.
• Ensure legal requirements are updated, communicated, and implemented throughout the property.
• Establish and plan audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OHS regulations.
• Oversee and communicate all audit results, establishing action plans to ensure hotel compliance with OHS regulatory requirements.
• Conduct and regularly review risk assessments for all hotel areas in coordination with concerned departments, implementing specific control measures.

Environmental Stewardship and Compliance

The Coordinator will collaborate with various departments to implement corporate social responsibility activities that contribute positively to the community and environment. This includes overseeing the implementation and monitoring of Rotana Earth programs within the hotel. The role requires operating in a safe and environmentally friendly manner to protect the health and safety of guests and employees, as well as to conserve the environment, in full compliance with hotel environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.

Candidate Profile

Candidates should be dedicated Health and Safety professionals with 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field. The role requires an individual capable of ensuring compliance with top-quality food and beverage product standards through prompt, accurate, and personalized service, and who can effectively guide teams in maintaining these standards. A strong commitment to protecting guest and employee health and safety is essential.
