The Role of Field Project Engineer

Alfa Laval is seeking a Field Project Engineer to join our team in Al Khobar, Eastern region. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on managing customer projects and driving service growth. The Field Project Engineer will play a key role in delivering lifecycle service solutions, including spare parts, upgrades, service agreements, and technical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare project-specific estimations by coordinating with local service providers and contractors, obtaining competitive quotations, negotiating pricing, and developing technically sound and commercially competitive proposals while ensuring profitability.
• Support and manage customer projects across the Middle East region through regular interaction, site visits, meetings, and coordination with customer project teams.
• Coordinate closely with service execution teams, subcontractors, customer project teams, and sales departments.
• Participate in customer meetings, site visits, and project discussions to support successful project execution and proposal development.
• Monitor project progress and performance against approved plans, controlling costs to avoid overruns and minimize deviations.
• Identify, organize, and manage the resources required to complete projects efficiently and resolve execution challenges to avoid delays.
• Select, coordinate, and manage subcontractors to ensure smooth project integration and satisfactory service standards.
• Supervise on-site activities and participate in project execution, commissioning, and start-up alongside client representatives.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements throughout execution.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience in project engineering, field execution, commissioning, or industrial projects.
• Strong technical, commercial, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Italian is preferred.
• Experience working with customers and contractors across the Middle East region is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
• Strong exposure and knowledge of Safety Standards.

Work Environment and Expectations

The market for this role is dynamic, characterized by strong customer demands for rapid solutions and deliveries. This requires the Field Project Engineer to be alert to market conditions and coordinate closely with all stakeholders. Extensive travel is essential, as the role involves covering a wide geographical region, primarily across the Middle East. A significant portion of time will be spent at customer sites, and the ability to withstand work pressures is required.
