About the Role

GE Vernova is seeking a Coating Technician to join our full-time team in Dammam, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This role is integral to supporting thermal spray coating operations on gas turbine components. The technician will be responsible for executing process steps safely and accurately, including pre-coat and post-coat weighing, and the coat application processes. This position requires a commitment to Lean behaviors, active participation in problem-solving, and maintaining 5S standards to contribute to continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform coat application in accordance with approved work instructions, process standards, and engineering requirements.
• Execute masking for coating processes as required, following approved work instructions and process specifications.
• Read and interpret work instructions and quality forms to ensure accurate coating application.
• Record and maintain accurate process and measurement data as required.
• Use coating equipment, weighing devices, fixtures, and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Inspect parts before and after coating processes to ensure conformance to quality requirements.

Lean Principles and Continuous Improvement

The Coating Technician plays an important role in driving overall Lean implementation. This involves identifying improvement opportunities, supporting standard work, reducing waste, and helping improve process flow and operational performance.

• Demonstrate a strong understanding and application of Lean principles in daily work activities.
• Actively participate in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities to address process or quality issues.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality, cycle time, flow, and waste reduction.
• Support improvements in standard work, line organization, visual management, and process discipline to strengthen overall Lean implementation.
• Contribute to team efforts that improve line performance, operational efficiency, and overall shop productivity.

Operational Standards and Tools

• Adhere to Standard Work and Standard Work Combination Sheets to ensure consistency, quality, safety, and efficient line flow.
• Work within takt time, cycle time, and standard process flow expectations to support production goals.
• Use shop floor systems and interfaces such as ELM and SmartShop, as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 0-1 years of experience in a relevant technical or manufacturing environment.

Compliance and Workplace Standards

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
• Comply with company quality policies, safety requirements, applicable procedures, and standard work.
