Operator Refractory

About the Role

Al Tuwairqi Group is seeking a Refractory Operator for a full-time position in Dammam. This role is based in the Steel Making Plant, specifically within the Ladle & Refractory section, and reports directly to the Supervisor, Refractory. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in a related field.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform operational and refractory activities in adherence to Loss Control Procedures.
• Assist the shift supervisor with operational and refractory workload.
• Execute start-up and shutdown tasks and maintain normal operating routines as directed by the Supervisor.
• Comply with all safety standards outlined in the Loss Control Program.
• Conduct activities in accordance with operations and refractory guidelines, maintaining a high level of competence.
• Execute operational activities as planned by the shift supervisor.
• Follow all guidelines and instructions issued by the Unit Superintendent.
• Ensure proper housekeeping in the work area before leaving the workplace.
• Identify and report any equipment abnormalities to the shift supervisor.
• Comply with ISO 9001 procedures and maintain awareness of these standards.
• Prepare and secure the area or equipment prior to handing over to maintenance for repairs or preventive maintenance (PMs).
• Develop and maintain positive industrial relations at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

• Matriculation or equivalent qualification.
• 3 years of experience working within a steel plant environment.
• Familiarity with bricklaying and ladle preparation activities.
• Thorough knowledge of unit operations.

Required Skills and Attributes

• Significant problem-solving ability.
• Physically fit for the job, with the ability to work effectively in hot environments.
• Understanding of loss control management principles.
• Ability to maintain good working relations with colleagues.
• Acceptable level of confidence in communicating ideas.

Work Environment

This role is based in a Steel Making Plant in Dammam, specifically within the Ladle & Refractory section, and requires working in hot environments.
