UG Electrical Technician

About the Role

Virtucruit is collaborating with a prominent mining company in Saudi Arabia to recruit a UG Electrical Technician for the Maintenance Department. This full-time position is based in Dammam and involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within underground mining operations. The primary goal is to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance of all electrical components.

Role Overview and Reporting Structure

The UG Electrical Technician will be a key member of the ME Maintenance Department, reporting directly to the UG Electrical Supervisor. The role focuses on troubleshooting electrical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and supporting the continuous operational functionality of underground equipment and infrastructure. This position does not hold any monetary authority.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to the highest safety, health, and environmental work standards.
• Understand and comply with the company's HSE and environmental policies.
• Implement all occupational health and security measures within the maintenance work area.
• Identify and apply technical repair methods for UG electrical equipment.
• Perform electrical repairs and maintenance based on technical drawings.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical systems and components of machinery and equipment.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and repair needs, ensuring compliance with codes.
• Maintain electrical prints and documentation.
• Assist in training apprentices on procedures and safe electrical practices.
• Report details of work completion accurately.
• Attend electrical training sessions to stay updated on site equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the UG Electrical Supervisor.
• Support the development and training of local nationals through mentorship, guidance, and coaching.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Technical Diploma or Vocational qualification in Electrical engineering, or a High School diploma combined with equivalent years of experience.
• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in underground mine electrical maintenance.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in English communication, both oral and written.
