About Sulzer and the Opportunity

Sulzer, a leading engineering company with a proud heritage of innovation, is seeking a full-time Accountant to join its global team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role contributes to developing innovative solutions that enable a prosperous and more sustainable society.

Role Purpose

The Accountant will be responsible for managing the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process. This position ensures all supplier transactions are accurate, timely, and compliant with company policies, internal controls, IFRS standards, and Saudi Arabian regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Execute the complete P2P cycle, including invoice processing and 3-way matching (Purchase Order, Goods Receipt, Invoice).
Accurately record supplier invoices in SAP with correct coding and project allocations.
Resolve invoice discrepancies and coordinate with Procurement, Supply Chain, and other business stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with Purchase Order policies and the "No PO, No Pay" principle.
Prepare and process payment runs in adherence to the Delegation of Authority (DoA) and internal control frameworks.
Maintain Accounts Payable (AP) aging reports and support cash flow forecasting activities.
Ensure compliance with KSA VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), and ZATCA Phase 2 e-Invoicing requirements.
Reconcile vendor statements, AP sub-ledger accounts, and Goods Received/Invoice Received (GR/IR) balances, promptly resolving outstanding items.
Support month-end and year-end close activities, including AP-to-General Ledger reconciliations.
Provide required documentation and support for internal and external audits.
Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and P2P efficiency enhancements.
Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Operations, Procurement, and external vendors to ensure smooth AP operations.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on Procure-to-Pay processes. Proficiency in SAP and a strong understanding of IFRS, KSA regulatory requirements including VAT, WHT, and ZATCA e-Invoicing are essential for success in this position.
