About the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority is seeking an Audit Supervisor to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is integral to ensuring compliance with customs regulations and supporting the Authority's operational objectives.

The Role of Audit Supervisor

As an Audit Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of operational plans and driving significant improvements to predefined policies, procedures, standards, and reports. This full-time position involves supporting auditors in their analysis, managing complex cases, and analyzing financial information to determine relevant customs amounts within established guidelines. The role requires a professional with 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Core Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of operational plans and contribute to the enhancement of predefined policies, procedures, standards, and reporting frameworks.
  • Provide support to auditors in their analysis, follow up on subsequent audits, and manage complex audit cases.
  • Analyze relevant financial information to recommend appropriate customs amounts, ensuring adherence to approved policies and guidelines.
  • Develop and update valuation templates and audit tools to streamline the examination of trader systems, business procedures, financial records, and physical assets.
  • Monitor industry-specific developments and new customs practices across various sectors (*, business, insurance, telecommunications, consumer goods) for integration into audit assessments.
  • Maintain and update post-audit manuals, declarations, eligibility criteria, and legal requirements for SMEs, integrating them into computer-aided audit tools.

Operational Duties

  • Unify, categorize, and prioritize SME post-audit schedules by industry type, ensuring their distribution to relevant audit teams for evaluation.
  • Conduct subsequent audits within the Kingdom, verifying the validity of legal documents (*, Import Invoices, Declarations) and completeness of required documentation before liability assessment.
  • Collect necessary declarations for office audit activities and coordinate with stakeholders (*, account managers, banks, government bodies) for information and clarifications.
  • Conduct research on general news, declaration rules, and common channels to understand the business activities of SMEs, including their structure, size, and jurisdictions.
  • Examine taxpayer returns to identify high-risk and non-compliant cases, communicating findings to internal stakeholders to mitigate risks like tax evasion.
  • Monitor SME objections and appeals, coordinating with Legal Affairs or the AMANA Secretariat to resolve disputes and provide clarifications on audit results for certifications.
  • Prepare reports on high-risk cases based on audit outcomes and communicate these findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Generate reports and statistics on SMEs (*, types, segments, size) to identify patterns, trends, and support decision-making in revenue assessment and forecasting.

Required Experience

The ideal candidate will possess 5 to 10 years of experience in an audit capacity, demonstrating proficiency in the responsibilities outlined for this role.
