Consultant Sports Medicine

About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Consultant - Sports Medicine to provide specialized sports medicine care on a part-time, in-person basis in Riyadh. This role focuses on evaluating, diagnosing, and managing a broad range of musculoskeletal and exercise-related conditions within the ICC physical clinic. The consultant will address acute and chronic sports-related injuries, including muscle, tendon, and ligament injuries, joint pain, overuse injuries, and cases requiring concussion assessment or return-to-play evaluations. The position requires 2-5 years of experience.

Patient Consultations and Management

• Deliver comprehensive, in-person sports medicine care during scheduled part-time clinic sessions, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up.
• Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations, including history taking, physical and functional examination, and review of relevant imaging findings.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based management plans, including non-operative management, rehabilitation, exercise prescription, and referrals.
• Manage common sports medicine conditions such as muscle, tendon, and ligament injuries, joint pain, overuse injuries, and concussion.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including physiotherapy and orthopaedics, to deliver integrated, patient-centered care.
• Promote musculoskeletal and exercise health through preventive counseling, injury-prevention guidance, and return-to-play assessments.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers, providing clear guidance on diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Ensure compliance with clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate and timely medical documentation.
• Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based sports medicine practice and in-clinic regulations through continuous professional development.
• Contribute to clinical governance by participating in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and regulatory compliance programs.

Professional Development

• Maintain and continuously enhance clinical knowledge in sports medicine and in-person best practices.
• Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and continuing medical education (CME) activities.
• Integrate the latest clinical evidence into practice to continuously improve the quality, safety, and effectiveness of patient care.

Clinical Documentation and EHR Proficiency

• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) in compliance with organizational policies and data privacy regulations.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the clinic's EHR system to ensure efficient, high-quality, and well-documented in-person consultations.
• Participate in ongoing training and adopt system enhancements and best practices.

Collaboration with Healthcare Teams

• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care and optimize clinical outcomes.
• Provide clinical expertise and recommendations to support evidence-based decision-making and integrated care planning.
• Facilitate clear and timely communication among healthcare professionals to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Mentor and support junior physicians and healthcare professionals through clinical guidance and knowledge sharing during scheduled clinic time.
