About the Opportunity

Saudi Entertainment Ventures | SEVEN is seeking a Director Portfolio Controls & Change Management to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time, senior leadership role is central to developing, implementing, and managing all Commercial Controls, Change Management, Reporting & Consolidation, Cost Systems, Governance, Procedures, and function-specific Document Control activities across the entire SEVEN portfolio. The Director leads a team of professionals, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and transparent performance information to support informed decision-making at project, program, portfolio, and executive levels. This position acts as the custodian of portfolio cost data, reporting processes, change governance, and associated management systems, fostering consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement across all projects.

Leadership and Strategic Oversight

  • Promote a "One Team" culture and seamless integration across the business.
  • Lead the Commercial Controls, Reporting, Change Management, and function-specific Document Control functions across the portfolio.
  • Support the Executive Director in defining and implementing the strategic direction for the function, including developing the strategic roadmap, annual objectives, and improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and monitor functional KPIs and performance measures, promoting a "no-surprise" culture through proactive reporting and issue escalation.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on governance, reporting, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Represent SEVEN in all commercial controls, reporting, and governance interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain portfolio-wide controls frameworks, governance processes, and assurance mechanisms, ensuring compliance with approved policies and procedures.
  • Act as custodian of commercial controls standards across the portfolio and support Executive Management with strategic and operational decision-making.

Portfolio Management and Reporting

  • Lead all portfolio reporting activities, establishing a consistent reporting framework and directing the preparation of Monthly Status Reports, Executive Reports, Dashboards, and Portfolio Performance Reports.
  • Consolidate project cost, commercial, and performance data into portfolio-level reporting outputs, analyzing performance trends, forecasts, variances, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop executive dashboards and management information systems to support informed decision-making, maintaining a strategic reporting calendar and ensuring timely submissions.
  • Act as business owner for Aconex Connected Cost and associated project controls systems, leading their implementation, enhancement, configuration, and optimization.
  • Drive system improvement initiatives, automation opportunities, and integration requirements, establishing and maintaining portfolio coding structures including CBS and WBS.
  • Ensure portfolio data integrity, consistency, and quality across all systems, governing master data and reporting structures.

Change Management and Procedural Excellence

  • Lead portfolio-wide baseline and non-baseline change management activities, acting as custodian of Change Management procedures and governance frameworks.
  • Chair or facilitate Change Committee activities, ensuring Project Change Requests are assessed, reviewed, and approved in accordance with approved procedures and Delegation of Authority requirements.
  • Maintain portfolio change registers and reporting metrics, providing assurance and challenge on change requests, cost impacts, and business cases.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Commercial Controls, Reporting, Change Management, and Governance procedures, ensuring alignment with business requirements and industry best practice.
  • Lead compliance audits and maturity assessments across the portfolio, developing and delivering training programs and awareness sessions.
  • Lead the function-specific Document Control function, establishing standards, protocols, and governance requirements, and overseeing document workflows and archival processes.

People Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead multiple teams, including Reporting & Consolidation, Change Management, Cost Systems, and Document Control, defining goals and performance measures for direct reports.
  • Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning, leading recruitment, onboarding, and capability development activities.
  • Conduct performance reviews and ensure effective implementation of SEVEN's performance management framework, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
  • Develop strong relationships with Projects (Delivery & Development), Finance, Procurement, Executive Leadership teams, PMCs, CMCs, Contractors, and Consultants.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for portfolio reporting, governance, and controls matters, ensuring transparent and efficient communication with all stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of the Commercial & Project Controls strategy, driving standardization and consistency across the portfolio.
  • Promote strong health, safety, and environmental practices throughout SEVEN, ensuring compliance with all HSEQ policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • A Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) is preferable.
  • Professional certifications such as APM (Association for Project Management), PPM (Professional in Project Management), or PgMP (Program Management Professional).
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in portfolio controls, change management, or a related senior leadership role.
