About the Role

Al-Ayuni Investment and Contracting Company is seeking an Engineer II, Procurement – Mechanical, to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves supporting and executing procurement activities for mechanical materials, equipment, and services, ensuring alignment with project requirements, specifications, budgets, and company procedures. The position requires 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to manage supplier coordination, technical evaluation, and purchasing activities for mechanical items. The Engineer II will ensure the timely delivery of necessary mechanical components to support project execution, while adhering to approved specifications and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement activities for mechanical materials, equipment, and related services.
  • Review purchase requisitions, specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), drawings, and project requirements.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to approved suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Obtain and evaluate commercial and technical quotations, preparing bid comparison sheets and procurement recommendations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate prices, delivery schedules, payment terms, and commercial conditions.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure compliance with approved procurement procedures, following up to ensure timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Commercial, and Project teams to clarify technical and procurement requirements.
  • Review technical submittals, datasheets, and supplier documentation in coordination with relevant engineering teams.
  • Ensure purchased materials and equipment comply with project specifications and approved standards.
  • Support the resolution of technical and commercial issues with suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and delivery commitments, supporting supplier evaluation and maintaining accurate procurement records.
  • Identify potential procurement risks and escalate delays or critical issues to management.
  • Monitor procurement costs against approved budgets and project requirements, supporting cost-saving and value-engineering initiatives.
  • Prepare procurement status reports, trackers, and dashboards, maintaining accurate records of RFQs, quotations, purchase orders, deliveries, and supplier correspondence.
  • Coordinate with site and project teams to ensure material availability according to the approved construction schedule.
  • Support expediting, inspection, and delivery activities, assisting with resolving material shortages, delays, and non-conformities.
  • Support project close-out activities and ensure procurement documentation is properly completed and archived.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in procurement, specifically with mechanical materials, equipment, and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage procurement activities from requisition to delivery.
  • Experience in technical evaluation and negotiation with suppliers.
  • Proficiency in preparing procurement documentation and reports.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within Al-Ayuni Investment and Contracting Company. The role involves coordination across various internal teams and external suppliers to ensure project success.
