About the International Tax Director Role

stc is seeking an International Tax Director to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to driving the company's international tax strategy, policies, and guidelines. The role involves ensuring financial reporting practices align with strategic objectives and compliance standards.

Role Purpose and Strategic Impact

The International Tax Director will provide critical support to Business Units, corporate functions, and subsidiaries on matters related to international tax, transfer pricing, and Double Tax Treaties. A key focus will be on assisting with the implementation and maintenance of transfer pricing policies and documentation, ensuring adherence to established business policies and procedures. This role requires 5-10 years of relevant experience, with a strong preference for prior managerial experience in tax and VAT control within a large-scale service-oriented industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, feasibility modeling, and implementation of the group tax strategy.
  • Support Business Units, corporate functions, and subsidiaries on international tax, transfer pricing, and Double Tax Treaties.
  • Implement and maintain transfer pricing policies and documentation.
  • Prepare responses for tax audit requirements and analyze tax assessments for international tax and transfer pricing.
  • Partner with Business Units and corporate functions on international tax and transfer pricing projects.
  • Evaluate, document, and minimize global permanent establishment risks.
  • Oversee international tax compliance for group companies.
  • Research, study, and communicate the effects of international tax developments, and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
  • Engage in international tax planning projects and M&A transactions.
  • Avail the benefits of Double Tax Treaties and identify potential tax refunds for stc.
  • Support risk management and implement risk mitigation controls for international tax and transfer pricing.
  • Explore opportunities to benefit stc from international conventions, and direct efforts to realize these benefits.
  • Review and identify refunds of international double taxation agreements between KSA and other countries.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Finance.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a relevant tax field.

Preferred Experience

Prior managerial experience in Tax & VAT control within a large-scale service-oriented industry is strongly preferred for this role.
