About the Role

McKinsey & Company is seeking a Knowledge Analyst Operations & Procurement to join its Client Capabilities Office in Riyadh. This full-time role is part of the Centre of Procurement Excellence for Operations, where the analyst will contribute to a rapidly growing procurement service line. The primary objective is to assist organizations in building competitive advantage through world-class purchasing and supply management capabilities, with a focus on creating sustainable impact.

Key Responsibilities

The Knowledge Analyst will engage in end-to-end optimization efforts aimed at total value capture across various industry sectors. This includes a particular focus on Banking & Financial Services, Basic Materials, Consumer Goods, Retail, Pharmaceuticals, and Travel, Transport & Logistics. Key activities involve:

• Implementing strategic and global sourcing initiatives.
• Facilitating supplier collaboration and innovation.
• Optimizing procure-to-pay processes and organization design.
• Building and enhancing client capabilities in procurement.

Client Engagement and Support

This role primarily focuses on client service within the EEMA region, involving cross-geography and cross-industry work with extensive travel to client locations. The analyst will drive workstreams for specific categories and provide short-term support to Client Serving Teams by delivering key insights on content-focused questions, including:

• Conducting spend analysis and TCO/should-cost modeling.
• Performing contract analysis and supplier identification.
• Identifying saving ideas/levers and developing sourcing strategies.
• Managing and analyzing requests for quotes (RFQs).
• Developing negotiation strategies and tracking mechanisms.

Additionally, the role involves supporting client proposals and other client development activities, bringing relevant knowledge and capabilities. The analyst will also contribute to the development and maintenance of procurement capabilities, including assets, knowledge, tools, fact packs, case studies, and primers.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of industry purchasing experience to contribute to the Centre of Procurement Excellence for the Operations practice.
