About the Role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Lifting Expert to join its Transportation Project Delivery team. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and offers an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a multi-disciplinary Transportation project. The role involves collaboration across all stages of the project lifecycle, working with the Design, Engineering, and Construction supervision team, and in close coordination with the Design & Build (D&B) Contractor.

Project Contribution and Focus

The Lifting Expert will play a key role in overseeing lifting activities, with a particular emphasis on safety throughout the project. This position provides opportunities to develop technical leadership skills within a project of considerable size and scope. The focus will be on ensuring adherence to safety protocols and efficient execution of all lifting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and supervise the Logistic and Construction plans developed by the D&B Contractor.
• Review and supervise Lifting Plans and Method Statements from the D&B Contractor.
• Assess design deliverables for constructability.
• Review risk assessments related to lifting activities by the D&B Contractor, ensuring proper evaluation and identification of mitigation measures.
• Verify that the D&B Contractor selects appropriate lifting equipment (slings, shackles, spreader beams, cranes) based on load, geometry, and environmental conditions.
• Conduct inspection and testing of lifting equipment and tools to industry specifications, both on-site and in workshops.
• Ensure the D&B Contractor conducts toolbox talks and lifting safety briefs, addressing safety risks and coordination.
• Oversee rigging crews during complex or critical lifts.
• Ensure all lifting activities comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Confirm that personnel possess the necessary skills, training, resources, equipment, and tools for safe and effective routine maintenance, as per contract terms.
• Ensure the PMCM Team, particularly the Construction Supervision Team, is informed of lifting activities, attends safety briefs, and follows safety procedures during supervision duties.
• Coordinate with the HSE Manager and Head of Construction to integrate lifting activities into reporting.
• Maintain a proactive safety attitude and contribute positively to a culture of safety.

Candidate Requirements

We are seeking individuals with 5-10 years of relevant experience who demonstrate a strong understanding of machinery and the technical aspects of the industry. Candidates should also possess:

• Excellent personal organizational skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in completing inspection and examination testing documentation.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment combining construction supervision and administration.
