Mechanical Engineer Design

About the Role

AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Design to join its engineering team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical components and systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate concepts into functional designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and manufacturing feasibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs and technical drawings using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and adherence to engineering specifications.
• Conduct design analysis and simulations to evaluate performance, stress, and durability of mechanical components.
• Analyze design requirements and translate them into comprehensive design solutions that meet functional and operational objectives.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and product teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with production capabilities.
• Perform material selection and analysis to optimize component performance and manufacturing efficiency.
• Document design modifications and maintain organized design files and project records.
• Review and validate designs against industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Support prototyping and testing phases by providing design guidance and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Maintain organized project documentation and ensure all design files are properly archived and version-controlled.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Proficiency in CAD software for detailed mechanical designs and technical drawings.
• Experience with design analysis and simulations.
• Ability to translate design requirements into comprehensive design solutions.
• Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
