About the Role

Wardat Almashreq is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position focuses on overseeing accounts payable operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier transactions, and maintaining strong internal controls. The role is critical for supporting month-end closing activities and managing vendor relationships effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounts payable activities, ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and on time.
  • Review and control the three-way matching process for purchase orders, goods receipts, and supplier invoices.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies in coordination with Procurement, Warehouse, and other relevant departments.
  • Manage month-end accounts payable closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and clearing outstanding items.
  • Prepare and review vendor payment plans based on due dates, approvals, and cash flow requirements.
  • Review supplier payments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with approval workflows.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and handle payment-related inquiries and escalations.
  • Perform supplier statement reconciliations and resolve outstanding differences.
  • Review foreign currency transactions and ensure proper accounting treatment of exchange rate differences.
  • Monitor accounts payable aging and identify risks related to overdue balances and vendor exposure.
  • Prepare periodic reports, reconciliations, and analysis for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and segregation of duties requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and information.
  • Guide and support junior team members while ensuring continuity of operations during staff absences.
  • Perform any other duties related to the position as assigned by management.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, specifically with a focus on accounts payable operations. A detail-oriented approach and strong understanding of financial procedures are essential for this role.

Compliance and Controls

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring adherence to company policies and financial procedures, maintaining robust internal controls, and supporting audit processes. This includes reviewing transactions for accuracy and completeness, and ensuring compliance with approval workflows and segregation of duties.

Team Collaboration and Support

This role involves collaboration with various departments such as Procurement and Warehouse to resolve discrepancies. The Senior Accountant will also provide guidance and support to junior team members, ensuring operational continuity and fostering a collaborative work environment.
