Senior Data Scientist

About the Role

Wakeb Data is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading the development of advanced, scalable AI solutions, making architectural decisions, and providing technical leadership and supervision to the team. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop highly complex AI models.
• Select appropriate model architectures.
• Lead code and model reviews, providing technical feedback.
• Prepare executive reports with analytical insights and actionable recommendations.
• Represent the team in meetings to explain and defend technical findings.
• Train team members and provide technical support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Required Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Cloud Computing technologies and their application in developing and operating AI solutions.
• Ability to design and build end-to-end AI systems, from data collection to deployment and operation.
• Experience in multi-node and distributed training for models across multiple nodes.
• Application of resource-aware design principles to optimize computational resource utilization.
• Ability to manage model drift and performance degradation, and monitor model performance after deployment.
• Optimize load handling and reduce latency to ensure system efficiency under high workloads.
• Design and manage AI/ML pipeline orchestration to automate training, deployment, and operational processes.
• Advanced knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning models and their practical applications.

• Familiarity with MLOps practices for efficiently developing, deploying, and operating AI models, including:

  • Distributed Training: Design and manage AI model training across multi-node environments while ensuring efficient workload distribution and training stability.
  • Optimization & Scalability: Ensure performance efficiency and system scalability.
  • Leadership & Decision-Making: Make technical and engineering decisions and lead implementation.
