Structure Design Engineer Bridges

About the Role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Structure Design Engineer Bridges to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position for an experienced professional to lead and contribute to bridge design and supervision across various project phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, analysis, and delivery of steel bridge structures through all project phases, including concept, preliminary, detailed design, construction supervision, and closeout.
• Develop bridge engineering solutions for complex urban transportation corridors and highway networks.
• Coordinate bridge designs with multidisciplinary teams, including highways, utilities, traffic, drainage, geotechnical, and construction disciplines.
• Perform structural analysis, design calculations, technical reviews, and independent design verification.
• Provide construction support services, such as responding to technical queries, reviewing shop drawings, method statements, temporary works proposals, and material submittals.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Review contractor submissions and oversee bridge construction, erection, launching, rehabilitation, strengthening, and maintenance works.
• Identify and resolve design and construction issues during project execution.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, Saudi regulations, and international bridge design standards such as AASHTO, Eurocodes, and relevant local codes.
• Support stakeholder engagement and coordinate with contractors, consultants, utility agencies, and government authorities.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within bridge design and supervision teams.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 5-10 years of experience in structural design engineering, specifically with bridges. The position requires a professional who can manage complex projects and provide technical guidance.
