TECHNICIAN CENTRAL STERILE SUPPLY DISTRIBUTION

About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh is seeking a Technician, Central Sterile Supply Distribution. This full-time role involves the centralized processing and sterilization of patient care devices, instruments, and equipment. The technician will manage these items from storage through distribution to various patient care areas, including operating rooms and dental clinics, utilizing distribution carts for both sterilized and prepackaged supplies.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive contaminated devices, instruments, and equipment in the decontamination area, reducing bio-burden while consistently using personal protective equipment.
• Apply chemical disinfectants and sterilants in adherence to established safety procedures.
• Operate decontamination and terminal sterilization equipment, reporting any malfunctions or parameter changes.
• Sort, inspect, assemble, and package all decontaminated items.
• Ensure proper sterility of processed items by following established sterilization procedures, including loading, unloading, storing, handling techniques, and sterilization assurance monitors.
• Incubate biological monitors and accurately record all monitor results according to established procedures.
• Apply tracking labels to all processed items.
• Prepare single items and various sets as designated.
• Stock Central Sterile Supply Distribution (CSSD) carts with processed instruments to predetermined par levels.
• Reduce microbial growth and transmission by performing daily damp dusting with approved hospital disinfectant.
• Inspect and clean sterilization equipment within CSSD according to the established schedule.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s or Associate Degree/Diploma in Central Sterile Supply Distribution Technician or a related discipline is required.
• For Grade 07: One (1) year of related experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or two (2) years of related experience with an Associate Degree/Diploma.
• For Grade 08: Four (4) years of experience as a CSSD Technician at KFSH&RC, or equivalent related experience at Grade 07.
• An average annual performance appraisal of at least for the last four (4) years.
• Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education (CME).
• Current registration from the country of origin and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, contributing to essential patient care support services within a hospital setting.
