About the Role

Aljomaih Energy and Water Company is seeking a Maintenance Lead Engineer Mechanical to join their team in Ash Shimasiyah, Al Qasim, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves leading mechanical maintenance operations to ensure the reliability and efficiency of plant systems and equipment, requiring 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and implement inspection, maintenance, and repair schedules for all mechanical systems and equipment, including gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, condensers, heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), pumps, compressors, and HVAC.
• Ensure the availability of necessary tooling and compliance with third-party certification requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of mechanical maintenance engineers and technicians to achieve operational targets and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical guidance and support for troubleshooting mechanical issues, conducting root cause analysis of failures, and implementing corrective measures.
• Plan and oversee mechanical maintenance projects, ensuring completion on time and within budget, and coordinate with other departments to minimize disruption to plant operations.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager in preparing the annual maintenance budget, manage resource allocation effectively, and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising safety or reliability.
• Ensure adequate inventories of spares and consumables, manage timely procurement, prepare purchase requisitions, and perform technical evaluations of quotations.

Pre-PCOD Phase Support

During the Pre-Provisional Commercial Operation Date (PCOD) phase, the role includes specific responsibilities to ensure operational readiness:

• Support the Owner during the design review phase, installation, commissioning, testing, and trial operation period.
• Review and finalize Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and the initial spare parts list.
• Develop the Master Equipment List and implement the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Identify spares and define maintenance strategies based on equipment criticality studies.
• Prepare site-specific maintenance procedures and Work Instructions.
• Ensure the maintenance team is authorized as Permit Receivers and facilitate the timely placement of subcontracts.
• Confirm readiness for the operational period by ensuring all staff are trained and all systems and processes required for O&M operations are in place.
• Verify that the plant is fit for purpose to be taken over and that it is designed, built, commissioned, and tested as per the EPC Contract and other Project Agreements.

Compliance and Safety Management

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and initiate safety improvement programs.
• Ensure adherence to Corporate and site-specific procedures and Work Instructions.

Documentation and Continuous Improvement

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory.
• Prepare detailed reports on maintenance work, performance metrics, and project status for management review.
• Develop, implement, and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Identify and implement improvement initiatives in mechanical maintenance processes and workflows.
• Stay informed about industry trends, advancements in technology, and maintenance best practices.

Experience Requirements

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance engineering, preferably within a power generation or heavy industrial environment.
