About Aljomaih Energy and Water Company

Aljomaih Energy and Water Company is seeking a Sr. HSE Officer to join its team in Ash Shimasiyah, Al Qasim, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is integral to maintaining and enhancing health, safety, and environmental standards across the company's operations.

Role Summary

The Sr. HSE Officer is responsible for the comprehensive management of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) systems. This role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance, mitigate risks, and foster a proactive safety culture within the plant environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain HSSE policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements, PPAs, and ISO standards (*, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure the plant operates within a safe and secure environment.
Organize and conduct HSSE training programs for all employees and contractors to enhance safety awareness and knowledge of emergency response protocols.
Lead investigations of incidents, near misses, and accidents, documenting findings, recommending corrective actions, and maintaining a comprehensive incident reporting system.
Ensure compliance with local and international health, safety, and environmental regulations and industry standards relevant to power generation.
Develop, implement, and regularly update the plant's emergency response plan, coordinating drills and ensuring suitable PPE and safety equipment are available and maintained.
Monitor HSSE performance metrics, prepare regular reports for management, and participate in HSSE audits and inspections.
Collaborate with various departments to integrate HSSE considerations into all aspects of plant operations and foster a culture of safety.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HSSE practices, processes, and systems, staying updated on industry best practices and advancements in HSSE technologies.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Sr. HSE Officer position should possess the following qualifications and experience:

A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant Health, Safety, and Environment role.
Proven ability to develop, implement, and maintain HSSE policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory and ISO standards.
Experience in conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and leading incident investigations.
Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations pertinent to the power generation industry.

Work Environment and Additional Requirements

This full-time role requires a willingness to work in onsite environments and conduct regular site inspections. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a multicultural environment and communicate across various levels of an organization.
