Freight Systems Engineer

About the Role

Saudi Railway Company (SAR) is seeking a Freight Systems Engineer to join their team in An Nu'ayriyah, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of freight rolling stock systems through meticulous review, analysis, and implementation of engineering strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Review maintenance plans to ensure a safe, sufficient, and cost-effective strategy is in place.
• Approve and support Asset Engineering in configuration changes of systems.
• Apply systems knowledge, particularly regarding performance issues, emerging technical trends, reliability problems, and safety risks.
• Collaborate with other support managers to maintain key documentation, engineering specifications, drawings, and vehicle configurations.
• Lead root cause analysis and technical investigations for system issues.
• Ensure adherence of all systems with established SAR standards and best practices.
• Continuously monitor and report on the Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) of freight rolling stock to detect deviations and recommend actions for performance improvement.
• Maintain and continually report on freight rolling stock performance.
• Initiate and implement design modifications aimed at advancing RAMS and the life expectancy of fleets, in accordance with change management processes.
• Review and advise on safe measures to be taken when a maintenance deferral is requested.
• Maintain Assets Criticality Assessments for freight rolling stock.

Experience Required

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in freight systems engineering or a related field.

This is a full-time position based in An Nu'ayriyah, Eastern, Saudi Arabia, within the Saudi Railway Company.
