Scada Engineer

About the Role

AIQU is seeking an experienced SCADA Engineer to join their team in Bishah, 'Asir. This is a contract position requiring 5-10 years of experience, focusing on SCADA systems, solar PV plant integration, substation automation, and testing & commissioning. The role involves working independently at project sites and coordinating with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure SCADA/HMI systems, PLCs, RTUs, and gateways.
• Integrate protection relays and other system components.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning.
• Conduct signal testing and troubleshoot system issues.
• Coordinate effectively with OEMs, vendors, and commissioning teams.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in SCADA, Automation, or Power Plant Control Systems.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with SCADA/HMI configuration, PLCs, RTUs, gateways, and protection relay integration.
• Strong knowledge of industry communication protocols including IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-101/104, Modbus TCP/RTU, and OPC/OPC UA.
• Experience with PPC / PVSCADA, solar inverters, SAS, and electrical substations.
• Proficiency in FAT, SAT, commissioning, signal testing, and troubleshooting.

Preferred Skills and Systems

• Experience with SCADA systems from major vendors such as Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB, GE, or SEL is preferred.

Work Environment and Location

This role is based in Bishah, 'Asir, and requires the ability to work independently at various project sites. Candidates currently available in Saudi Arabia and those able to join on immediate or short notice are preferred for this contract position.
