Associate Manager Operations Cost Accounting

About the Role

SC Johnson is seeking an Associate Manager, Operations Cost Accounting, for a full-time position in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This role is integral to the Global Supply Chain organization, focusing on the financial management of the manufacturing site in Jeddah. The position involves performance monitoring, budgeting, forecasting, and CAPEX management, alongside supporting cost-saving initiatives and ensuring adherence to financial controls and compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver budgets and manage the financial performance of the manufacturing site, with a focus on production volumes, conversion costs, and achieved cost savings.
• Prepare actionable reports on key performance measures, providing timely and relevant business commentaries.
• Provide accurate forecast updates for the manufacturing site, aligning with the S&OP process to control and optimize delivered costs across the supply chain. This includes managing absorption, functional expenses, material variances, and efficiency variances, while highlighting risks and opportunities related to future plant performance.
• Lead the preparation of capital investment proposals, identify and quantify cost or benefit drivers, and perform Return-on-Investment (ROI) analysis. Guide the organization in obtaining senior management sign-off, ensure project execution aligns with approved proposals, and improve capital project spending tracking systems.
• Support the identification and quantification of cost-saving opportunities through thorough analysis to eliminate waste across the supply chain, with a focus on manufacturing. This includes optimizing equipment productivity (OEE), addressing sub-optimal resource allocation, reducing waste, and conducting sourcing and strategy studies.
• Influence the supply chain team to make decisions that contribute to strong plant financial performance, prepare recommendations, and support their implementation.
• Continuously improve the internal controls environment in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley control framework, focusing on manufacturing and inventory controls.
• Act as an ambassador for internal controls, ensuring best-in-class controls are operational at the site, and serve as the main point of contact for external and internal auditors.
• Implement process improvements based on recommendations from global internal audit, while supporting the delivery of statutory reporting requirements.

Collaboration and Reporting

This role involves strong collaboration with the regional AMET Supply Chain team across multiple locations, the regional Costing team based in Italy, and the regional MENAPT headquarters in Turkey. The position also ensures continuity in financial reporting through close collaboration with SC Johnson’s Shared Services Center team in Cairo, Egypt.

Required Experience

• Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in operations cost accounting or financial management within a manufacturing environment.
