Group Conference & Events Sales Manager

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Group Conference & Events Sales Manager to join our team in Jeddah. This full-time position is responsible for proactively soliciting and managing sales opportunities within the conference and events sector. The role focuses on building long-term, value-based customer relationships to achieve sales objectives and personal sales goals.

Core Responsibilities

• Proactively solicit and handle sales opportunities, ensuring proper and timely business turnover for service delivery.
• Assist in leading day-to-day sales activities, focusing on strategic growth and relationship management.
• Achieve personal sales goals in alignment with overall business objectives.

Sales and Market Engagement

• Collaborate with off-property sales channels to ensure coordinated and complementary sales efforts.
• Identify new business opportunities to achieve individual and location revenue goals.
• Participate in sales calls with team members to acquire new business and close deals.
• Execute operational aspects of booked business, including generating proposals, writing contracts, and managing customer correspondence.
• Understand the overall market, including competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, and supply and demand, to effectively position sales strategies.
• Close the most suitable opportunities for the location based on prevailing market conditions and specific needs.

Customer Relationship Management

• Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers through activities such as sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, and trade shows to secure future bookings.
• Develop relationships within the community to expand the customer base for sales opportunities.
• Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide accurate, complete, and effective turnover of business to Event Management.
• Support the company’s service and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty through consistent service excellence.
• Service customers to grow their share of the account and execute customer service standards.
• Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels, setting a positive example for guest relations.

Qualifications

Candidates for this position should meet one of the following educational and experience criteria:

• A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major, combined with 3 years of experience in sales and marketing or a related professional area.
• OR
• A 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major, combined with 1 year of experience in sales and marketing or a related professional area.
