Senior Solutions Architect AWS Global Sales

About the Role

AWS EMEA SARL (Saudi Arabia Branch) is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect for AWS Global Sales to work with Enterprise and Strategic customers in western Saudi Arabia, based in Jeddah. This full-time role involves driving the adoption of AWS cloud services and enabling customers to innovate and expand their operations. The position is central to AWS's growth strategy in the Kingdom, particularly given Saudi Arabia's rapid cloud market expansion fueled by Vision 2030 and national digital transformation programs.

Role Responsibilities

• Drive long-term customer success, satisfaction, and trust through the adoption of AWS services and well-architected solutions, in partnership with Account Managers and Business Development.
• Serve as the primary technical advisor for enterprise customers in the Jeddah and western Saudi Arabia region, building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and influencing their long-term technology strategy.
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and lead deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful cloud deployment, including competitive migration paths from other cloud providers to AWS.
• Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many enablement sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS Solutions Architect community; contribute to customer-facing publications such as white papers, blog posts, and reference architectures.
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, AWS Service Teams, and Support, gathering product feedback, driving feature requests, and mentoring fellow Solutions Architects in the region.

A Day in the Life

As a Senior Solutions Architect in Jeddah, daily activities focus on customer impact. This may include preparing architecture proposals for enterprise customers migrating to AWS, or joining deep-dive technical sessions with engineering teams to whiteboard microservices architectures and advise on compute, AI/ML, and data services. Collaboration with Account Managers and the wider account team on strategy calls is also common, aligning on technical win plans and identifying specialist resources. The role also involves leading workshops or Immersion Days for developers at customer sites, covering topics such as Amazon Bedrock, GenAI application patterns, or container modernization with EKS. Between customer engagements, tasks include capturing product feedback, drafting blog posts on solution patterns, or reviewing teammate architectures. The week also includes internal syncs with the KSA SA team, community knowledge-sharing sessions, and event preparation.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.
• 8+ years of experience in specific technology domain areas such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics.
• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture.
• Experience working with end-user or developer communities.
• Experience in a technical role within a sales organization.
• Experience with presentations and speaking with executives, IT management, and developers.
• Experience designing or advising on AI/ML workloads, including model training, inference, and deployment on cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with generative AI concepts and their application to enterprise use cases (*, foundation models, RAG architectures, AI agents, prompt engineering).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience architecting data pipelines and data platforms that support AI/ML workloads (*, data lakes, feature stores, vector databases).
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks and services (*, SageMaker, Bedrock, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face) or equivalent cloud AI platforms.
