Senior Solutions Architect

About the Role

AWS EMEA SARL (Saudi Arabia Branch) is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to work with Enterprise and Strategic customers in western Saudi Arabia, based in Jeddah. This full-time role is central to AWS’s growth strategy in the Kingdom, particularly as Saudi Arabia experiences rapid cloud market expansion driven by Vision 2030 and national digital transformation initiatives across various sectors.

Role Responsibilities

The Senior Solutions Architect will serve as the primary technical advisor for a portfolio of high-profile enterprise customers. This involves understanding business drivers, assessing application portfolios, and designing reliable, cost-effective cloud-native architectures. The role requires collaboration with Account Managers, Business Development representatives, Professional Services, Specialist SAs, and AWS Service Teams to develop solutions addressing complex business problems and accelerating the adoption of AWS services.

• Drive long-term customer success, satisfaction, and trust through the adoption of AWS services and well-architected solutions, in partnership with Account Managers and Business Development.
• Serve as the primary technical advisor for enterprise customers in the Jeddah and western Saudi Arabia region, building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and influencing their long-term technology strategy.
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and lead deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful cloud deployment, including competitive migration paths.
• Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many enablement sessions to transfer knowledge to customers using or considering AWS.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS Solutions Architect community and contribute to customer-facing publications.
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, AWS Service Teams, and Support, gathering product feedback, driving feature requests, and mentoring fellow Solutions Architects.

A Day in the Role

A typical day involves preparing architecture proposals for enterprise customers, leading deep-dive technical sessions with engineering teams to whiteboard microservices architectures, and advising on compute, AI/ML, and data services. The role includes collaborating with account teams on strategy calls, leading workshops or Immersion Days for developers, and capturing product feedback. Activities also include drafting blog posts on solution patterns and reviewing architectures created by teammates, alongside internal syncs and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Required Qualifications

• Over 10 years of experience in a relevant technical role.
• Broad competency across multiple technology areas including Generative AI, Agentic AI, cloud infrastructure, security, DevOps, databases, application development, and data analytics.
• Deep expertise in at least 2-3 of the aforementioned technology areas.
• Ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.
• Demonstrated capability to connect technology with measurable business value.
• Experience interacting with various customer stakeholders, including CxOs, VPs, Directors, Architects, Developers, and Engineers.
