Workshop Mechanical Technician

About MBRF and the Role

MBRF is seeking a Workshop Mechanical Technician to join its team in Makkah. This full-time position involves performing mechanical repair and maintenance activities for machinery and equipment, contributing to the company's operations that impact thousands of families globally through quality and innovation. The role requires 2-5 years of experience and is based in Jeddah or requires willingness to relocate to Makkah.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repair, refurbishment, modification, welding, and fabrication activities for machinery and equipment.
• Operate machine shop equipment including lathe, milling machine, shaper, planer, drill press, grinders, and band saw.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with established standards and procedures.
• Inspect and maintain workshop equipment, special tools, and spare equipment to ensure good working condition.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings.
• Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability activities in collaboration with the Maintenance team.
• Ensure proper workshop housekeeping and comply with HSE, GMP, 5S, HACCP, and food safety requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Technical diploma or certificate in Mechanical Trade, Turning, Welding, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in machine shop, welding, and mechanical maintenance activities, preferably within Food/FMCG or a similar industrial environment.
• Hands-on experience in arc welding, gas welding, and argon/TIG welding.
• Experience operating lathe, milling, drilling, grinding, and other machine shop equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical components, drives, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and lubrication.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
• Basic knowledge of SAP and MS Office is an advantage.
• Business-level English proficiency.
• Must be based in Jeddah or willing to relocate to Makkah.
