Safety Engineer

About the Role

Silah Tamkeen is seeking a Safety Engineer to join their team in Makkah, with work locations in Rabigh and Makkah. This full-time role focuses on overseeing work permit activities and ensuring strict compliance with approved Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements. The position is critical for supporting safe and controlled work execution across various power generation projects and facilities.

Job Objective

The primary objective of the Safety Engineer is to ensure that all work permit processes are meticulously followed and that safety precautions are in place before, during, and after work activities. This role is instrumental in maintaining high safety standards within power generation environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and validate work permits before the commencement of any activities.
• Ensure that all required safety precautions and control measures are effectively implemented.
• Coordinate closely with operations, maintenance, and contractor teams regarding permit activities.
• Monitor ongoing compliance with permit conditions and established HSE procedures.
• Verify the validity of permits throughout the duration of work activities.
• Ensure the proper suspension and closure of permits upon the completion of tasks.
• Identify unsafe conditions or permit violations and coordinate the necessary corrective actions.
• Ensure full compliance with power generation safety standards and specific site requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in safety and work permit activities, with a preference for experience within power generation or power plant projects.
• Valid CSCC00 – General Introductory Training in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Valid CSCC06 – Power Plant Safety for Generation Contractors.
• Valid CSCC07 – Generation Work Permit Holder.

Required Skills

• Sound knowledge of Work Permit / Permit to Work (PTW) systems and HSE procedures.
• Strong coordination, communication, and follow-up skills.

Work Environment

This full-time position is based in the Makkah region, with operations in both Rabigh and Makkah. The role involves working within power generation projects and facilities, requiring adherence to stringent safety protocols and collaborative efforts with various operational teams.
