This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience, focusing on providing electrical and instrumentation engineering support for marine and shipbuilding projects. The successful candidate will resolve technical issues, review production drawings, and ensure E&I systems comply with project specifications and marine standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide construction and production support for Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) installation activities in marine, shipbuilding, and offshore vessel projects.
  • Review, prepare, and revise E&I engineering deliverables, including electrical equipment layouts, cable routing, schedules, termination diagrams, and instrument installation drawings.
  • Review shop drawings, installation drawings, and production information to identify discrepancies and resolve design-related issues.
  • Provide technical support to shipyard production teams during equipment installation, cable pulling, termination, instrument mounting, and system integration.
  • Resolve technical queries (TQs), site and production issues, drawing discrepancies, and installation-related engineering problems.
  • Incorporate engineering changes, production feedback, and redline mark-ups into drawings, cable schedules, and 3D models.
  • Coordinate with Hull Structure, Machinery Outfitting, Piping, HVAC, and other engineering disciplines to ensure proper E&I integration and avoid clashes.
  • Review vendor drawings, equipment specifications, and technical documentation for compatibility with vessel arrangements and installation requirements.
  • Verify cable routing, equipment accessibility, installation clearances, maintenance access, and interface requirements before execution.
  • Support constructability reviews and identify potential installation constraints, routing conflicts, and design discrepancies.
  • Ensure E&I installation arrangements comply with project specifications, applicable marine standards, classification society requirements, and shipyard construction procedures.
  • Coordinate with engineers, designers, equipment vendors, and production personnel to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Support the preparation and updating of cable schedules, equipment lists, material lists, and installation documentation.
  • Assist in resolving issues related to equipment positioning, cable tray routing, penetrations, supports, and interfaces with structural and mechanical systems.
  • Maintain updated production drawings, technical records, and construction documentation in accordance with project procedures.
  • Support as-built drawing updates and incorporate final production modifications.
  • Ensure construction support deliverables are completed within agreed project schedules and quality requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience in Construction Support (CS), shipyard production support, and E&I drawing modifications.
  • Strong experience in electrical and instrumentation installation layouts, cable routing, equipment positioning, and associated engineering activities.
  • Good understanding of marine electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, earthing, cable management, instrumentation installation, and control system interfaces.
  • Experience preparing and modifying 2D production drawings, cable schedules, installation drawings, and 3D models.
  • Proficiency in marine 3D design software, preferably AVEVA Marine / Hull & Outfitting, or other accepted shipbuilding CAD software.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, instrument hook-up drawings, cable schedules, vendor documentation, and production mark-ups.
  • Experience resolving technical queries and supporting shipyard production teams during construction and installation activities.
  • Familiarity with marine classification society requirements, applicable IEC standards, shipbuilding standards, and project specifications.
  • Experience coordinating with Hull Structure, Machinery Outfitting, Piping, HVAC, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Understanding of cable routing through bulkheads and decks, equipment mounting arrangements, penetrations, and associated installation interfaces.
  • Experience in new-build shipbuilding projects, offshore vessels, FPSOs, or similar marine engineering projects is preferred.
  • Exposure to international shipyards, marine EPC contractors, or multidisciplinary engineering environments is preferred.

Required Skills

  • Strong technical problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in drawing interpretation.
  • Effective coordination and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a project-driven engineering and shipyard production environment.
