About Maaden

Established in 1997, Maaden is a rapidly growing multi-commodity mining and metals company in the Middle East. The company is instrumental in developing the mining industry as a key pillar of Saudi Arabia’s economy, building an integrated mining value chain. This full-time role for a Transaction PMO Lead is based in Ras Tannurah, Eastern KSA, and offers an opportunity to contribute to Maaden's growth plans.

Role Purpose

The Transaction PMO Lead is responsible for managing the day-to-day mechanics and control environment of the joint venture formation process. This includes overseeing the integrated schedule, data room, issue register, decision register, governance calendar, and stage-gate evidence. The role ensures that all workstreams, advisors, internal stakeholders, and partners progress in a coordinated and disciplined manner, enabling the Transaction Lead to focus on principal-level negotiations and decisions.

This position serves as the central source of truth for transaction status, identifying bottlenecks early, recommending schedule-compression measures, and maintaining visibility of dependencies across various stages such as the HoA, due diligence, business case, definitive agreements, regulatory approvals, financing, and Project interfaces. The role supports an accelerated, multi-workstream industrial JV process involving various internal departments and external advisors, commencing before Day 0 to establish governance and reporting disciplines, and remaining active through FID to ensure continuity.

Key Accountabilities

  • Build, baseline, and maintain the integrated master schedule across all phases of partner selection, HoA, due diligence, technical development, commercial modelling, legal documentation, approvals, financing, and Project interfaces.
  • Identify opportunities for schedule acceleration, including parallel activities, shortened review cycles, efficient workshop sequencing, and developing recovery actions for threatened milestones.
  • Establish and manage the governance calendar, meeting cadence, submission timetable, approval map, and stage-gate readiness process for all relevant committees and teams.
  • Oversee the data room and document control processes.
  • Maintain the master issue list, decision log, assumption register, dependency register, action tracker, and escalation list, ensuring clear ownership, deadlines, required evidence, and closure records for each item.
  • Define milestone evidence requirements, track deliverable maturity against gate criteria, and provide objective readiness assessments for governance submissions.
  • Manage meetings and sprints, including daily stand-ups during the HoA sprint and regular cadences thereafter, issuing agendas, pre-reads, decisions, actions, and escalation items promptly.
  • Prepare concise, fact-based executive reports for Steering Committee, Investment Committee, and Board, covering progress, critical path, required decisions, key risks, unresolved issues, and schedule outlook.
  • Coordinate various workstreams and external advisors around a single integrated workplan and consistent assumptions.
  • Coordinate with partners by maintaining joint action registers, tracking information requests and responses, and ensuring partner commitments are recorded without creating unauthorized obligations.
  • Coordinate the transaction risk register and change-control process, identifying impacts on schedule, scope, cost, approval, and interfaces before changes are accepted.
  • Prepare a complete handover package at FID, covering agreements, approvals, obligations, assumptions, conditions, open items, reporting requirements, and value-realization commitments.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position located in Ras Tannurah, Eastern KSA. The role involves working with diverse internal teams including Business Development, Corporate BD, Legal, Finance, Technical, Operations, Procurement, Risk, and Project teams, as well as external advisors and potential partners.
