We are seeking an experienced Database Team Lead – Oracle & SQL Server for a contract position in Makkah, specifically in Jeddah or Makkah. This role requires 5-10 years of experience and involves providing technical leadership and administration for enterprise-critical database environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee enterprise Oracle and SQL Server environments, providing technical guidance and mentoring to database administrators.
• Establish database administration standards and best practices, reviewing configurations, changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex database issues and lead resolution of P1/P2 database incidents.
• Administer Oracle 11g, 12c, 19c, and 21c, including Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and Replication.
• Lead Oracle installation, upgrades, patching, migrations, troubleshooting, and support performance, availability, HA, and DR requirements.
• Administer enterprise Microsoft SQL Server environments, managing Always On Availability Groups, Clustering, and Replication.
• Lead SQL Server upgrades, patching, migrations, troubleshooting, and support performance, HA, and DR requirements.
• Lead database performance monitoring and optimization, performing advanced query and database performance tuning.
• Support capacity planning and infrastructure optimization, managing Oracle RMAN and SQL Server backup/recovery.
• Implement database security, access controls, encryption, and auditing, and support databases hosted in Azure, AWS, and/or OCI.
• Develop automation using SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, and scripting to improve operational efficiency.
• Conduct technical Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and coordinate technical teams and vendors during major incidents.
• Lead database upgrades, migrations, patching, and technology refresh activities, ensuring adherence to change-management procedures.
• Maintain database architecture and configuration documentation, develop operational runbooks and troubleshooting guides, and drive continuous improvement of database administration processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong hands-on expertise in Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server, including Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, SQL Server Always On, Clustering, Replication, Performance Tuning, Backup & Recovery, Security, High Availability, and Disaster Recovery.
• Experience leading database teams or technical projects.
• Enterprise-critical production database experience.
• Strong HA/DR architecture and implementation experience.
• Advanced database troubleshooting and P1/P2 incident management.
• Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis, change and migration management, and capacity planning.
• Knowledge of database security and stakeholder management.
• Ability to provide team mentoring and maintain accurate documentation and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Banking or Financial Services.
• Enterprise-scale database migration experience.
• Relevant Oracle, Microsoft, cloud, or database certifications.
