The Opportunity

Jacobs is seeking a Senior GIS/CAD Technician to join the team in Neom, Al Jawf, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves supporting the successful completion and close-out phase of a major water infrastructure project. The position is critical for ensuring that all project documentation is accurate, complete, and prepared for final acceptance and operational use.

Role Overview

The Senior GIS/CAD Technician will manage GIS, CAD, and as-built information requirements during the close-out phase of a significant water infrastructure project. This involves close collaboration with engineering, construction, commissioning, and project controls teams to maintain accurate project records, develop and update as-built drawings, manage geospatial data, and prepare final asset information for handover to the client and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain CAD drawings, GIS datasets, and engineering records throughout project close-out activities.
• Produce and verify as-built drawings based on construction, commissioning, and site verification information.
• Support the preparation of final handover packages, ensuring all drawings, maps, and asset information are accurate and complete.
• Maintain geospatial databases and asset registers for water infrastructure assets, utilities, pipelines, facilities, and associated systems.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, commissioning, and quality teams to ensure documentation reflects completed works.
• Perform quality checks and validation of GIS and CAD deliverables to ensure compliance with project standards and requirements.
• Manage drawing revisions, document control processes, and data updates within project information management systems.
• Support site verification activities and incorporate field survey data into project records and asset databases.
• Generate maps, plans, spatial analyses, and technical reports to support project close-out and handover activities.
• Collaborate with client representatives and operations teams to facilitate the transfer of GIS, CAD, and asset information for long-term operational use.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess over 10 years of relevant experience in GIS and CAD, particularly within water infrastructure projects. The role requires a strong understanding of project documentation, geospatial data management, and as-built drawing production.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Neom, Al Jawf, Saudi Arabia, working within a project team focused on the close-out phase of a major water infrastructure initiative.
