The Opportunity

Surbana Jurong is seeking an experienced Associate / Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading mechanical design and technical delivery for major multidisciplinary projects within the Middle East region. The position requires a focus on developing and reviewing mechanical designs, leading design activities, and coordinating mechanical services with other disciplines to ensure technically robust and compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for mechanical design and technical delivery.
• Lead mechanical design activities from concept through detailed design and tender stages.
• Develop and review mechanical designs for various projects.
• Coordinate mechanical services effectively with architectural, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines.
• Prepare and review design calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and technical submissions.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 12 years of relevant mechanical engineering design experience.
• Strong consultancy experience in delivering medium to large-scale building and infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in leading mechanical design processes.
• Minimum of 5 years of Middle East design experience, with a preference for Saudi/GCC projects.
• Professional registration or chartership is advantageous.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, ventilation, heating, plumbing and drainage, and fire protection systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and relevant mechanical design/calculation software.
• Strong knowledge of relevant international standards, codes, and Middle East regulations.
