Cast Technician

About the Role

Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib (HMG) is seeking a Cast Technician to perform various casting procedures and coordinate with nursing staff. This full-time role involves direct patient care throughout their visit and requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform casting procedures including application and removal of casts, splints, bandages, and slabs as ordered by the physician.
• Coordinate with clinic nursing staff regarding patient procedures and the consumption of saleable items.
• Maintain all equipment in the cast room in good working condition and report any malfunctions to the Charge Nurse or Biomed department.
• Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the cast room.
• Prioritize patient safety during all procedures, providing comfort and correct positioning.
• Ensure sufficient supplies of saleable and disposable items are available for procedures.
• Initiate requisitions for needed saleable and disposable items through the Charge Nurse.
• Complete documentation by filling out the "request procedure form" after each procedure.
• Update consumption of saleable items in the material stock ledger and complete monthly inventory updates.
• Ensure all saleable items used during procedures are accurately charged to the patient.
• Report any unusual patient findings to the doctors.
• Adhere to HMG policies and procedures, including infection control protocols.
• Provide patient and family education regarding care.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety activities, including relevant training.
• Comply with standards to support and maintain national and international accreditation.
• Contribute to person-centered care initiatives, enriching the patient experience with compassion, respect, and dignity.
• Perform other assigned tasks within the scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Experience Required

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
