About the Role

Jumeirah Jabal Omar Hotel is seeking a Commis 1 for the Staff Canteen. This is a full-time position requiring 0-1 years of experience in a similar role. The Commis 1 will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for the staff canteen, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Receive and accurately execute orders from the Chef de Partie, following instructions and recommendations to meet daily requirements.
Gather, measure, mix, and prepare meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings according to established recipes and specifications.
Wash, peel, and chop vegetables, fruits, and meats with precision, demonstrating proficiency in cutting, seasoning, and marinating as needed.
Perform cooking techniques and plating according to specifications provided by the Demi Chef or Chef de Partie, ensuring high standards of dish preparation.
Document inventory of kitchen supplies, monitor stock levels, and notify supervisors of low stock to maintain sufficient supplies.
Operate kitchen equipment such as braising pans, ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers effectively, ensuring correct temperature settings for cooking and baking.

Qualifications and Experience

0-1 years of experience in a culinary role, preferably within a hotel or staff canteen environment.
Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately.
Proficiency in basic kitchen operations and equipment.
Attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
