Ma’aden is seeking a dedicated and skilled Production Engineer to join its team. This full-time role is integral to ensuring efficient mine operations by meticulously planning and coordinating the deployment of people, supplies, and equipment. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining high operational standards in line with statutory, safety, and environmental conditions.

The Role of a Production Engineer

The Production Engineer plays a crucial role in the lifecycle of mine operations, focusing on resource and extraction planning, engineering and commercial analysis, and comprehensive reporting. This position requires a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, ensuring all activities are conducted responsibly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Test the validity of minable resources through preliminary surveys conducted in collaboration with geologists, determining the feasibility of ore extraction.
• Determine appropriate ore extraction methods by considering factors such as overburden depth, altitude, deposit characteristics, and surrounding strata.
• Plan and coordinate the effective utilization of labor, supplies, and equipment, adhering to efficiency, statutory, safety, and environmental conditions.
• Consult with geologists, metallurgists, and other engineers regarding mining machines, facilities, systems, infrastructure, and environmental protection or restoration initiatives.
• Prepare operating and project estimates, assess capital and operating viability, and control expenditure throughout the production phase.
• Participate in negotiations related to mine purchases or investments.
• Analyze environmental sensitivities associated with processes, waste, chemicals, environmental and cultural factors, and geopolitical considerations.
• Analyze and compile monthly and yearly statistical production reports for management review and informational purposes.
• Monitor adherence to Ma’aden Health, Safety and Environment programs, policies, and procedures, providing guidance to address unsafe or damaging work practices.
• Investigate incidents within the assigned work area, provide recommendations or responses, and brief contractors on applicable HSE regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in mining engineering, including practical mine operations experience across various mine styles.

Operational Planning and Resource Management

This role demands strong capabilities in operational planning and resource management. The Production Engineer will be responsible for strategic resource allocation, optimizing extraction processes, and ensuring that all operational activities are aligned with efficiency targets and regulatory compliance. Effective planning and coordination are central to the success of this position.
