Mindrift is seeking a Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android) to contribute to the Tendem project. This is a part-time, remote freelance opportunity based in Saudi Arabia, suitable for professionals with 5-10 years of experience in mobile application development. The role offers compensation up to $60 per hour equivalent. Role Overview

As a Mobile App Developer for the Tendem project, you will be responsible for building native and cross-platform mobile applications for real-world use cases. This involves applying mobile engineering expertise to create stable, performant, and user-friendly applications for both iOS and Android platforms. The role encompasses designing, building, and refining mobile applications across various categories such as utilities, fitness/wellness, games, productivity, delivery, and content apps, utilizing either native or cross-platform frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop mobile applications using React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android).
• Implement responsive mobile UIs that adhere to platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design).
• Integrate native device features such as camera, push notifications, location, storage, and biometrics.
• Connect applications to backend APIs, managing offline state, caching, and synchronization.
• Implement monetization features, including in-app purchases, advertisements, or subscriptions, as required.
• Review, debug, optimize, and refactor mobile application code to enhance correctness, performance, battery efficiency, and maintainability.
• Debug platform-specific issues and prepare builds for distribution via TestFlight and Play Console.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a strong foundation in mobile application development, platform-specific UI/UX patterns, and the ability to build stable, high-quality mobile experiences for iOS and Android. A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field is considered a plus. We are seeking specialists capable of working confidently with native or cross-platform frameworks, integrating device APIs and backend services, and delivering production-ready mobile applications. Strong attention to detail and performance awareness are essential.

Essential Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: React Native, Flutter, Swift/SwiftUI (iOS), or Kotlin/Jetpack Compose (Android).
• Solid understanding of mobile UI patterns, navigation, state management, and platform guidelines.
• Experience integrating REST APIs, handling asynchronous data, and managing local storage.
• Familiarity with native device APIs, including notifications, camera, location, storage, and biometrics.
• Experience with mobile build tools, code signing, and submission processes for App Store and Google Play.
• Experience implementing in-app purchases, ads, or subscriptions is a plus.
• Familiarity with backend services such as Firebase, Supabase, or similar is a plus.

Work Environment and Candidate Attributes

This is a fully remote freelance position, allowing work on a flexible schedule with a laptop and stable internet connection. Tasks are estimated to require approximately 10-20 hours per week during active project phases, based on project requirements; this is an estimate and not a guaranteed workload. Candidates must demonstrate a self-directed work ethic and the ability to ship complete mobile features independently. A portfolio of shipped mobile applications is required, with App Store or Google Play links preferred. Participants may also be eligible for performance-based bonus programs that reward high-quality work and consistent delivery.
