QAQC Engineer (Substations / OHTL)

About the Role

Trading and Development Partnership is seeking an experienced QAQC Engineer specializing in Substations and Overhead Transmission Lines (OHTL) to join our power infrastructure team. This full-time role is based in the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia and requires 5-10 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the project Quality Management System to ensure compliance with client requirements, approved specifications, and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections related to the assigned discipline. For Electrical, this includes substation equipment installation, cable works, earthing systems, transmission line stringing, conductors, OPGW, fittings, and associated electrical activities. For Civil, this includes substation foundations, control buildings, structures, concrete works, trenches, transmission line foundations, and related civil activities.
• Implement, monitor, and track Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and Work Inspection Requests (WIRs).
• Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, test reports, punch lists, quality logs, and turnover dossiers for client review.
• Identify non-conformances, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), monitor corrective actions, and ensure timely closeout of quality observations.
• Witness inspections and testing activities related to substations and transmission lines, ensuring compliance with project specifications and approved procedures.
• Verify that all construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, project quality plans, and applicable standards.
• Interface with client representatives, consultants, and third-party inspectors during inspections and quality audits.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience as an Electrical or Civil QA/QC Engineer.
• Hands-on experience in HV/EHV Substation and Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) projects.
• Experience in 132kV, 230kV, 380kV, or higher voltage Substation and OHTL projects.
• Previous experience with National Grid, SEC, Aramco, or major EPC contractors is preferred.
• Experience in GIS/AIS substations, transmission line tower erection, conductor stringing, OPGW installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• GCC or Saudi Arabia project experience is highly preferred.
