QC Inspector Mechanical Project

About the Role

ABIS is seeking a QC Inspector - Mechanical - Project to join our team. This full-time role involves performing comprehensive inspection and testing of mechanical equipment installation activities to ensure strict compliance with project drawings, specifications, and all applicable codes and standards. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-process and final inspections on mechanical equipment installation works, including pumps, vessels, packages, and structural skids.
• Verify equipment installation, alignment, and grouting against approved drawings and vendor specifications.
• Witness mechanical running tests, alignment checks, and equipment box-up activities in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
• Verify materials and equipment against material certificates, vendor data, and project specifications.
• Record inspection results accurately and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
• Coordinate hold points and inspections effectively with client and third-party inspectors.
• Maintain detailed inspection records, checklists, and daily Quality Control (QC) reports.
• Verify the calibration status of all measuring and test equipment utilized on site.
• Support the generation of punch-lists and verify the closure of identified items for mechanical works.
• Ensure all work fronts comply with approved method statements and mechanical equipment standards.
• Support the preparation of quality documentation for mechanical handover dossiers.

Performance Evaluation

Performance in this role will be evaluated based on several key indicators, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency in all inspection activities.

• Accuracy and completeness of inspections.
• Timely identification and reporting of non-conformances.
• First-time inspection pass rate on assigned work fronts.
• Adherence to inspection schedules and hold points.
• Quality of inspection documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical quality control inspection, preferably within project environments.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and relevant industry codes and standards.
• Proficiency in performing inspections for mechanical equipment installations, including alignment and grouting.
• Experience with mechanical running tests and material verification processes.
• Strong understanding of quality documentation and reporting procedures, including NCRs.
