Senior Electrical Estimation & Design Engineer

About the Role

Eram Talent is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimation & Design Engineer with over 10 years of experience. This full-time role involves comprehensive electrical estimation, design, and project bidding, focusing on the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and ensuring compliance with international standards.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting electrical drawings, performing accurate quantity take-offs, and developing detailed electrical designs. This position requires strong coordination skills with vendors and bidding teams to achieve competitive project costs and ensure successful tender submissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and requirements to determine project scope, materials, and equipment needs.
• Perform quantity take-offs and determine material and resource requirements for electrical projects.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from MEP electrical drawings and Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
• Prepare and review electrical design calculations, drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Develop Protection Single Line Diagrams and ensure all designs comply with applicable international codes and standards.
• Conduct electrical estimation and BOQ preparation for both industrial and residential facilities.
• Coordinate with the bidding team for project estimation and tender submissions.
• Liaise with vendors, negotiate pricing, and commercial terms to achieve competitive project costs.
• Carry out transformer sizing, DG sizing, load calculations, cable sizing, cable schedules, circuit breaker sizing, and protection system sizing.
• Prepare electrical layouts and Single Line Diagrams using AutoCAD.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical estimation, design, BOQ preparation, and project bidding.
• Demonstrated expertise in interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in developing electrical designs and performing relevant calculations.
• Experience with AutoCAD for preparing electrical layouts and Single Line Diagrams.
• Strong understanding of international electrical codes and standards.
