About the Role

Saudi Aramco is seeking a Building Life Safety Plans Examiner to join the Loss Prevention (LP) organization. This full-time role involves working with planning, design, and construction teams to ensure that buildings and safety systems comply with International Code Council (ICC) model code regulations, as adopted and modified by Saudi Aramco and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The position requires over 10 years of experience and is available in locations including Riyadh, Ras Tannurah, Dhahran, Jeddah, Yanbu, and Jazan.

Loss Prevention Organization

The Loss Prevention organization provides both day-to-day in-field occupational and process safety support to Saudi Aramco operations, alongside centralized technical support and consulting functions. LP maintains field offices in Abqaiq, Riyadh, Ras Tanura, Dhahran, Udhailiyah, Jeddah (including Yanbu and Jazan), and Tanajib, through which it delivers services to all Saudi Aramco facilities and departments across the Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Saudi Aramco departments and organizations in implementing required fire and life safety regulations.
  • Conduct field inspections of new buildings under construction and assess existing building conditions.
  • Provide clear reports detailing safety concerns and propose practical, cost-effective corrective actions.
  • Participate in various safety studies and activities, including fire tests, incident investigations, compliance reviews, and insurance surveys, evaluating associated risks and potential consequences.
  • Develop and/or review corporate safety standards, instructions, and procedures related to safe building operations, formalizing them into company-documented practices as needed.
  • Review designs for new building construction, additions, alterations, or changes of occupancy to ensure compliance with ICC, company, and industry safety standards such as NFPA, ASME, ASTM, ANSI, and UL.
  • Participate in incident investigations as required and formulate safety improvement recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in any engineering or architectural discipline related to building and fire safety is required.
  • Candidates must possess over 10 years of relevant experience.

Required Skills

  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively in English with peers and management.
  • Proficiency in producing clear and concise oral and written reports in English.
