Construction Manager/Project Manager Electrical SS

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Construction Manager/Project Manager - Electrical - SS to lead the construction and execution of HV/EHV substation projects. This full-time role involves ensuring compliance with SEC standards, approved drawings, project specifications, HSE standards, and project schedules. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to oversee and manage all electrical construction activities for HV/EHV substations. This includes ensuring that all project phases, from planning to handover, adhere to stringent quality, safety, and regulatory requirements, while maintaining project timelines and resource efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical construction activities for HV/EHV substations.
• Manage the installation of transformers, GIS/AIS, switchgear, circuit breakers, CT/PT, protection & control, SCADA, AC/DC systems, and earthing.
• Plan and monitor construction activities, schedules, manpower, materials, and resources.
• Ensure all works comply with SEC standards, approved drawings, specifications, and applicable IEC standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, HSE, Planning, T&C, and subcontractor teams.
• Review method statements, ITPs, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
• Monitor project progress, identify delays, and implement recovery actions.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, energization, and project handover.
• Manage subcontractors to ensure productivity and resource availability.
• Coordinate directly with SEC/client representatives and consultants for approvals, inspections, and technical matters.
• Monitor quality, NCRs, and punch points, ensuring timely closure.
• Prepare progress reports and provide regular updates to project management.
• Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety, PTW, and HSE requirements.

Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in construction management or project management, specifically within electrical substation projects.
• Demonstrated experience in managing HV/EHV substation projects.
• Familiarity with SEC standards, IEC standards, and relevant industry specifications.
