Downstream Corrosion Engineer Refinery Experience Only

About the Role

Saudi Aramco is seeking an experienced Downstream Corrosion Engineer with refinery experience to join the Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME) organization, specifically within the Downstream Reliability Solutions Department (RSD). This full-time role involves providing technical support to operating facilities and deploying new technologies in corrosion management.

Department Overview

The Reliability Solutions Department (RSD) delivers engineering support to Saudi Aramco Global Manufacturing's wholly-owned and affiliate facilities, including refining, NGL processing, and petrochemical operations. This support encompasses reliability, inspection, corrosion management, and expertise for static, rotating, electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct corrosion management assessments and studies, identifying issues and recommending mitigation strategies.
• Develop and manage the GME Strategic value-driven programs roadmap.
• Deploy corrosion management technologies across the Global Manufacturing portfolio.
• Support corrosion-related failure investigations and publish lessons learned from Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) to prevent recurrence.
• Provide consultancy to Global Manufacturing facilities on corrosion management during design, construction, operations, and maintenance phases.
• Review operational parameters to identify necessary modifications to operating philosophies and procedures for effective corrosion management.
• Conduct corrosion mitigation and integrity reviews to optimize inspection and corrosion programs, maintaining overall asset integrity.
• Review design packages and validate materials selection based on applicable codes and standards.
• Support the conduction of risk-based inspection (RBI) studies using API-580 methodology.
• Investigate coating-related failures and recommend sound, cost-effective solutions.
• Support HAZOP review studies from a corrosion management perspective.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in corrosion engineering, specifically within refinery operations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and prioritize value-adding programs to enhance operational performance of downstream assets.
• Proficiency in conducting technical studies and analyses in specialized corrosion control fields, including cathodic protection, water treatment, chemical inhibition, and materials selection.

Role Focus

The primary focus of this role is to provide technical support to operating facilities and to lead the deployment of new technologies related to corrosion management. The Corrosion Engineer will be instrumental in developing and prioritizing programs aimed at enhancing the operational performance of Saudi Aramco’s downstream assets.
