About the Role

Waleed Yousef Alzayyad Certified Public Accountants (HLB WYZ) is seeking an External Audit Supervisor to join our team. This full-time role involves leading audit engagements, managing client relationships, and overseeing engagement economics. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in external audit.

Role Overview

The External Audit Supervisor is responsible for the comprehensive planning and supervision of audit engagements. This includes ensuring the quality and compliance of audit work, resolving technical issues, and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the engagement lifecycle. The role also involves managing the financial aspects of engagements and contributing to team development.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise complete audit engagements, including risk assessment, materiality determination, and audit program design, in coordination with the Manager.
• Supervise and review the work of the field team, ensuring the audit file is complete, well-documented, and compliant with firm and regulatory quality standards.
• Resolve technical and logistical issues arising during fieldwork, escalating only significant judgmental matters to the Manager.
• Manage the client relationship throughout the engagement, including opening/closing meetings and communication of findings to client management.
• Oversee engagement economics, monitoring budget-to-actual hours, realization, and billing milestones, and proposing scope adjustments where needed.
• Draft the audit report, management letter, and key sections of the financial statements for Manager and Partner review.
• Lead performance evaluation input for team members and identify training needs within the engagement team.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in external audit.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and supervise audit engagements effectively.
• Strong understanding of audit methodologies, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
