Field Services Engineer (Electrical Engg) Rotating Machines

About the Role

APEX Resources is seeking a Field Services Engineer (Electrical Engg) specializing in Rotating Machines for a contract position in the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia. This role involves comprehensive field services for electrical rotating machines, encompassing installation, maintenance, repair, and technical support for customers.

Role Overview

The Field Engineer will be responsible for the onsite installation of electrical rotating machines, followed by ongoing preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration. A key aspect of this role is providing technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding the installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance of equipment at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the installation and commissioning of rotating machines and their control and regulation systems, including all electrical aspects.
• Perform testing and validation of rotating machine protection systems.
• Conduct electrical machine testing using AD & DC HV kits.
• Execute on-site installation, commissioning, refurbishment, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of Medium Voltage synchronous and induction motors, generators, excitation, and AVR systems.
• Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services as required.
• Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives on installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance.
• Prepare comprehensive and timely technical reports, order materials, secure quotations, and manage job status, customer reports, time sheets, and expense sheets.
• Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work at customer sites.
• Maintain a strong safety mindset, ensuring all executed work adheres to GE safety standards and technical requirements.
• Prepare accurate technical reports for customer records and as a reference for future outages.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 10 years of field experience in electrical motors and generators.

Experience and Skills

Candidates should possess extensive practical experience in the field of electrical rotating machines, including hands-on expertise with installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting. A strong understanding of protection systems and HV testing is essential, alongside the ability to provide clear technical guidance to clients.
