Job Summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a Hostess for the InterContinental The Red Sea Resort. This full-time role is responsible for providing a welcoming first impression to guests through professional, courteous, and personalized service. The Hostess manages restaurant reservations, seating arrangements, and guest flow, ensuring that service standards reflect the luxury experience of InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and IHG.

Key Responsibilities

Warmly and professionally greet all guests upon arrival, using the restaurant and guest names when possible.
Ensure the restaurant entrance, hostess station, tables, and surrounding areas are clean and organized before opening.
Verify guest reservations and manage booking details in the reservation system.
Handle all restaurant reservations, including telephone bookings, walk-ins, special requests, and guest dining preferences.
Escort guests to their tables and present menus according to service standards.
Coordinate guest seating and table allocation with the restaurant service team to ensure smooth operations.
Provide accurate waiting times and manage guest flow during peak periods.
Maintain detailed knowledge of the restaurant menu, beverages, daily specials, promotions, and hotel facilities.
Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
Recognize VIP guests, repeat guests, and special occasions to provide personalized service.
Coordinate with the Restaurant Manager, service team, and Culinary team regarding guest preferences and dietary requirements.
Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of menus, beverage lists, and the hostess station.
Assist with food and beverage service as needed to support restaurant operations.
Maintain accurate guest reservation records and update guest information in the designated system.
Promote restaurant offerings and special promotions to enhance guest experience and support revenue.
Adhere to professional grooming, personal hygiene, and uniform standards.
Attend departmental briefings, meetings, and training sessions as required.
Follow all hotel policies, procedures, brand standards, and applicable food safety and hygiene requirements.
Demonstrate awareness of occupational health and safety procedures, fire and emergency protocols, and security requirements.
Perform other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Candidate Requirements

0-1 years of experience in a similar position within a hotel or luxury restaurant is preferred.
A Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management or a related field is an advantage.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
Knowledge of restaurant reservation systems and basic computer applications.
Strong guest service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a professional attitude.
