About the Role

Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib (HMG) is seeking an IVF Lab Technologist to join their team. This permanent position involves performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to support physicians in diagnosing, monitoring, treating, and preventing disease within the assigned laboratory area. The role also includes evaluating and reporting patient results.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and log semen and testicular biopsy samples in accordance with standard procedures.
• Perform basic andrology laboratory procedures, including semen analysis.
• Conduct sperm preparations for IUI, IVF, and ICSI from ejaculated sperm.
• Perform sperm preparation for ICSI using surgically retrieved sperm.
• Execute sperm cryopreservation and thawing procedures.
• Ensure all equipment temperatures and gas levels are within specified ranges and maintain a clean laboratory environment.
• Adhere strictly to IVF Lab quality control protocols.
• Enter all laboratory procedures into the relevant computer database and file hard copies.
• Assist in monitoring stock levels of reagents and materials to ensure proper inventory and consumption.
• Provide patient and family education as required.
• Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
• Contribute to enhancing patient experience through compassion, respect, and dignity.
• Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within an IVF context. A strong understanding of laboratory procedures and quality control is essential.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in basic andrology laboratory procedures, including semen analysis.
• Experience with sperm preparation for various assisted reproductive technologies (IUI, IVF, ICSI).
• Knowledge of sperm cryopreservation and thawing techniques.
• Ability to maintain laboratory equipment and ensure adherence to quality control protocols.
• Competency in data entry and record-keeping for laboratory procedures.
• Strong organizational skills for stock monitoring and inventory management.
• Effective communication skills for patient and family education.

Work Environment

This role is a permanent position within the IVF laboratory at Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib (HMG). The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated team focused on patient care and laboratory excellence.
