Life Guard

About the Role

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Life Guard to join their team in the Red Sea region. This full-time position involves ensuring the safety of guests in swimming areas and maintaining the recreational facilities. The role requires 0-1 years of experience in a related field.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor swimming areas for hazards, unusual activities, and swimmers in distress.
• Apply appropriate rescue techniques when swimmers require assistance.
• Promote and enforce recreational facility rules and regulations.
• Identify situations where guests cannot safely participate in an activity and report to a supervisor/manager.
• Provide assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
• Foster a pleasant and comfortable environment for guests.
• Fold and stack towels according to company procedures.
• Wash, scrub, and clean the pool deck area.
• Report accidents, injuries, and hazardous working conditions to management.
• Complete safety training and obtain relevant certifications.

Operational Duties

• Comply with all company safety and security policies and procedures.
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Maintain the privacy of company proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
• Support the team to achieve common goals.
• Adhere to quality assurance expectations and standards.

Physical Requirements

• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds ( kg) without assistance.
• Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing objects weighing more than 75 pounds (** kg).
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or for an entire work shift.
• Move at a speed required to respond to work situations (*, run, walk, jog).
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (*, to identify defects).
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of various sizes and weights, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and steps.
• Climb up and down ladders and service stairs/ramps.

Guest Interaction and Communication

• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
• Speak with others using clear and professional language.
• Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
