Life Guard

About the Role

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, *** is seeking a Life Guard to join their team in the Red Sea region. This full-time position is suitable for candidates with 0-1 years of experience. The Life Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety of swimmers, monitoring the swimming area for hazards, and responding to emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize appropriate rescue techniques for swimmers requiring assistance.
• Monitor the swimming area to identify dangerous conditions, unusual activities, or swimmers in distress.
• Enforce the rules and regulations of the recreational facility.
• Identify situations where guests may be unable to safely participate in an activity and inform a supervisor or manager.
• Provide assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
• Contribute to an entertaining and relaxing atmosphere for guests.
• Obtain, fold, and stack towels according to company procedures.
• Wash, mop, and clean the pool area.
• Report accidents, injuries, and hazardous working conditions to management.

Operational Duties and Standards

• Adhere to all chain safety policies and procedures, including reporting maintenance issues, accident risks, accidents, or injuries.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and appearance.
• Respect the confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Support colleagues and treat them with dignity and respect.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve common goals.
• Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Greet and acknowledge all guests in accordance with company standards.
• Communicate with others using clear, appropriate, and professional language, and answer the phone with proper etiquette.
• Perform all other tasks requested by managers that are consistent with the position.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds (* kg) without assistance.
• Ability to assist in moving, lifting, carrying, transporting, and placing objects weighing more than 75 pounds (34 kg).
• Capacity to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or a full shift.
• Ability to move at the speed required to respond to work situations (*, running, walking, jogging).
• Capability to visually inspect tools, equipment, and machinery to identify defects.
• Proficiency in grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of different sizes and weights requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to reach objects overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Capability to move on sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and service ramps.

Qualifications and Training

Candidates should possess 0-1 years of relevant experience. The role requires adherence to safety training and obtaining necessary safety certifications as mandated by company policy.
