Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Offshore)

About the Role

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Offshore) to join their team in the Eastern region. This full-time role requires extensive experience in the design of substations, transmission, and distribution systems within the oil & gas, hydrocarbon, and infrastructure industries. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership in managing large teams and possess expertise in conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering for medium to large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 10 to 20 electrical engineers and designers.
• Develop discipline work plans.
• Perform and check electrical systems studies, including those using ETAP.
• Prepare work-hour estimates for projects.
• Develop electrical equipment sizes and specifications.
• Perform and check power systems analyses.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the project team and clients.
• Ensure the design integrity of the electrical scope, manage assigned staff performance, and deliver work on schedule and within budget.
• Lead technical presentations to clients and their representatives as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical engineering design is required.
• Proven extensive experience in the design of substations, transmission, and distribution systems.
• Experience must be within the oil & gas, hydrocarbon, and infrastructure industries.
• Demonstrated leadership of a large team of electrical engineers and designers.
• Experience in Conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering for medium to large-scale projects.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in electrical systems studies, including ETAP.
• Strong technical leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for client interactions.
